Funding Guidelines

The Non-Profit Sector Employers’ Council does not accept unsolicited requests for funding. However, Requests for Proposal will be issued regularly until March 31, 2014. For the most recent Requests for Proposals, see What’s New.

Our initial focus with the LMP will be on non-profits in the Social Services sector. While we are still developing our funding program, here are a few details:

  • For now, the LMP is focusing on the paid workforce—future strategies will be extended to include volunteers
  • Our projects will focus on the sector as a whole, not individual organizations
  • Depending on the project, some will be contracted to non-profit organizations and others will be contracted to other professionals with specific expertise
  • Depending on the needs of the project, a call for proposals may be issued

The LMP is funded through a provincial labour market development project, which means there are some additional guidelines to follow. In general:

  • Activities must have a positive impact on the labour market
  • Activities must involve partnership
  • Activities must involve the strategies for dealing with labour force adjustments and/or for meeting human resource requirements
  • LMP assistance must be finite in nature
  • LMP activities should affect people who are in (or entering) the labour market ( i.e. over age 15).

Once the HR Strategic Plan has been completed, a funding plan will be published with more details.
