Vancouver Foundation wins gold again
April 4 , 2011 -- Vancouver Foundation has been honoured with another top award from the Council of Foundations (COF) in the United States.
Every year, COF holds the Wilmer Shields Rich Awards, which recognize excellence in communications. Public, private and community foundations from all over North America compete for these awards.
For 2011, Vancouver Foundation won the top award (Gold) for its Vital Signs report. This was in the Special Reports category, for community and public foundations with assets over $250 million.
Vital Signs is a snap-shot of the livability and wellness of the Metro Vancouver region. Exhaustive statistical analysis and a public opinion survey are combined in a 28-page report and accompanying website that has a broad, far-reaching perspective, and provides a critical examination of the state of life in our region.
(This is the third gold Vancouver Foundation has won in the Wilmer Shields Rich Awards. In 2010, the Foundation won the top award in the Magazine/Periodicals category, for its biennial newsmagazine Vancouver Foundation, and in the Special Report category for Youth Vital Signs.)
The 2011 awards will be officially presented at the Council of Foundations annual conference April 10-12, 2011 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
