British Columbia Building Envelope Education Foundation Fund
The BC Building Envelope Council Education Foundation Fund is making a positive difference to the building envelope industry. Whether you are a consultant, contractor, supplier, developer, regulator or warrantor, your contribution to the Fund will help create a permanent legacy for the education and training of new building envelope specialists.
The Cameron Harrison Memorial Award was established in 2009 by the BC Building Envelope Council. Cam was an award-winning 2007 graduate of BCIT in Architectural and Building Engineering Technology, and a former employee of RDH Building Engineering.
The Tom Morstead Memorial Award was established in 2009 by Tom's family. Tom worked very hard and was passionate and ethical about his field of work. He was always willing to share his expertise.
Funds are awarded in the form of scholarships or bursaries to registered educational institutions such as UBC, BCIT and qualifying building envelope apprenticeship programs. The educational institutions typically award the funds to students in the spring.
The amount awarded each year is decided by the Foundation's Board of Directors based on the amount available for granting, and the competitiveness of the applicants. Individual awards typically range from $500 to $1,000.
