Darren Oftebro Memorial Fund

Taken from us far too soon, Darren Oftebro’s life will forever remain a testament to his compassion for others. Darren was a big believer in paying it forward and often bought lunch for people in need. He loved to make people laugh and always lived life to the fullest. A loving husband and father of two, he was the type of person who was always there when someone needed help. Darren was tragically taken from us in a single motor vehicle accident on Sept 30, 2017.

Darren was a graduate of North Peace Secondary School in Fort St. John (class of 1999). He attended Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek where he became a journeyman welder and later started his own successful welding company.

In the spirit of Darren’s helping nature, his family created The Darren Oftebro Memorial Fund bursary that is awarded to a graduating student from North Peace Secondary School in Fort St. John. The recipient may be a student in financial need and registered at any recognized Canadian trade college. Darren’s family and friends hope to grow this bursary to increase the award size and to help more students in need.
