The Vancouver Institute

The Vancouver Institute is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing a diverse fare of free educational lectures to the general public. Founded in 1916, The Institute is a town-gown organization which invites national and international speakers from the sciences, social sciences, humanities and the arts. Held every Saturday evening on the campus of the University of BC, The Institute lectures attract between 300 and 500 people on a regular basis. Some lectures have attracted as many as 1000 audience members.
