Greenest City Neighbourhood Small Grants
Greenest City Neighbourhood Small Grants are a partnership between the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Foundation to support green focused projects. Vancouver Foundation distributes funds to qualified organizations, who administer the grants to individuals.
Grants of up to $1,000 are available for Vancouver residents to carry out projects that contribute to the City’s Greenest City Action Plan Targets.
There are lots of ways you can get involved. Growing and eating local food, making buildings more efficient, creating zero waste, conserving drinking water, reducing our ecological footprint, and so many others.
How it works
Applying for a Greenest City Neighbourhood Small Grant is easy. One simple online application and you’re done.
This year, we are encouraging projects that train, educate, and promote green focused every day practices and seek to develop skills training and community sharing. Your project must be free, accessible and welcoming to all.
Greenest City Neighbourhood Small Grants are for Vancouver residents with projects that work towards the following goals:
- Making businesses greener
- Growing and eating local food
- Making buildings more energy efficient
- Promoting greener forms of transportation
- Creating zero waste
- Mitigating climate change
- Breathing clean air Improving access to nature and planting trees
- Conserving drinking water
- Reducing our ecological footprint
When do applications open?
Communities across Vancouver are open for application in March and early April. Applications in these communities are now closed.
