Dheeraj Waran is a 23-year-old student in his last year in the English Honours program at the University of British Columbia. Dheeraj is a Queer settler to unceded Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories, who moved to Vancouver from Ahmednagar, India five years ago. Dheeraj is a passionate advocate for social justice and currently organizes with the UBC Social Justice Centre to advocate and organize with community. Dheeraj is an avid film-goer who volunteers at several film festivals in Vancouver, most recently working as Venue Manager for the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) and serving as Youth Juror at the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival (VLAFF) and serves as a producer for the UFSA Podcast (produced as part of the UBC Undergraduate Film Students Association).
