Project Description

Renata has 25 years of experience in community-based social services and currently serves as the Executive Director of St. Leonard’s Youth and Family Services. She has received recognition from all levels of government for her work in advancing human rights for children affected by violence, with her contributions including legislative and policy reform for child victims.

Renata represented Canada at the International Summit on Homelessness, speaking on approaches to address youth homelessness, and joined the Canadian government at an expert panel meeting on the sexual exploitation of children and Adolescents.  She is also a past president of the Canadian Women’s Congress, an organization committed to increasing the number of women elected to office in Canada, and she has been nominated for the Women of Distinction Award.

Renata holds an MA and is currently engaged in doctoral research focusing on new praxis paradigms in child welfare.
