Sarah joined Destination Canada in 2015 and is responsible for all legal and corporate governance matters. Prior to joining Destination Canada, Sarah was Legal Counsel at a Vancouver based early stage investment fund, where she provided advice regarding transactions in the areas of corporate, commercial and securities law from 2012 to 2015. Sarah began her career at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (now Dentons) where she practiced from 2007 to 2011 with the business law and corporate finance group before moving to Kornfeld LLP, a boutique Vancouver based law firm in 2011. Prior to her legal career Sarah was a federal ministerial assistant for the Ministers of National Revenue (1998-1999), Fisheries and Oceans (1999- 2002) and Natural Resources (2002-2003).
Sarah commenced her undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts (Major in Political Science and Minor in Publishing). She subsequently completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Manitoba where she also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Manitoba Law Journal. She was admitted to the Bar in British Columbia in 2007. Sarah recently completed the Business Leadership for In-House Counsel program at the Rotman School of Management/CCCA to earn her CIC.C designation.
Sarah currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Vancouver Foundation and the FJL Housing Society. She is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
