Victor and Rosario Kolstee Fund
Under the direction of Artistic Director Rosario Ancer and Musical Director Victor Kolstee, Flamenco Rosario was founded in 1989, to develop dance and music in traditional and contemporary innovative styles of flamenco. The company shares its passion for flamenco’s raw power through the annual Vancouver International Flamenco Festival, as well as the many programs under Flamenco Rosario that nurture and develop new generations of flamenco artists.
In 2021, our beloved Musical Director, Victor, sadly passed away, and therefore the Victor and Rosario Kolstee Fund has been created to honour his memory and his vast contributions to the flamenco art form. It is important for the company to ensure the ongoing encouragement of flamenco musicians in Canada, and therefore donations to this fund will contribute to a biennial award given to a Canadian flamenco musician to pursue their professional development.
The Victor & Rosario Kolstee fund will help to secure the success of flamenco arts and will continue the legacy of Victor for generations of flamenco musicians to come.
