Vancouver Welsh Mens Choir
For 40 years, the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir has maintained the tradition of Celtic male choral singing in four part harmony. From its roots as a group of expatriate Welshmen longing to sing, the choir has grown to almost a 100 auditioned singers from many different cultural backgrounds.
We share the joy of singing in a dozen or so concerts each year, entertaining people around the Lower Mainland and throughout BC. We have also served as ambassadors for the Vancouver music scene in international tours to Australia, Europe, and the UK.
We work to maintain the tradition by encouraging young people to sing. Every Christmas we provide an opportunity for local high school choirs to perform with us. In 2019, we entered a performing partnership with St. James Music Academy. Research shows that young people benefit, socially and emotionally from making music together. We offer bursaries to postsecondary music students and offer them a stage to showcase their talents. Through Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir Endowment Fund, we will ensure that funding for students to explore their musical interests and talents will be available for years to come.
Please consider helping us to maintain this cultural and social tradition by donating to the Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir Endowment Fund today.
