Craig Settee

Craig Settee is a Cree and Anishinaabe man originally from Manitoba. He is a citizen of Ocheckwi Sipi (Fisher River Cree Nation) with family ties to Dauphin River First Nation and other communities around Lake Winnipeg. Craig represents himself first and foremost. He has been involved in a national kidney research network over the past four years as a coordinator of the Indigenous council of patient partners (those affected by kidney disease) and supporting mobilization of Indigenous focused cultural awareness and competency trainings as part of a learning pathway with several recommended trainings. He grew up in Winnipeg’s inner city west end where he attended middle/high school and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Winnipeg in Conflict Resolution and Urban Inner City Studies. Craig also worked with youth throughout his university years as a cultural support worker and ceremony helper to many mentors in Manitoba.
