Amanda is a lawyer and the co-founder of Jointly, an innovative legal technology company working to close the access to justice gap in family law. Jointly provides Canadians with affordable, plain-language tools to create relationship agreements such as prenups, postnups, and cohabitation agreements without needing to hire a lawyer. Amanda’s work with Jointly reflects her long-standing commitment to building equitable, informed, and resilient communities through accessible legal services.
Amanda also serves as legal counsel to the Metro Vancouver Regional District (Metro Vancouver), a federation of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area, and one Treaty First Nation that work together to provide regional services for over two million residents of the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. Amanda’s role involves providing strategic advice, regulatory reporting and compliance, and dispute resolution to all departments of the organization. She brings a wealth of expertise in aboriginal and environmental law, gained from years of private practice at a national law firm.
Amanda is deeply committed to social and environmental causes. She recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Sustainability and Social Responsibility program at the University of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto, where she was awarded the President’s Capstone Award for significantly advancing sustainability at her organization.
