Kate Hammer will continue as Interim CEO of Vancouver Foundation

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that Kate Hammer, current Vice President of Engagement, will be continuing as Interim CEO at Vancouver Foundation.

The board has asked Kate to stay on in that role, as staff and community partners have expressed a need for continuity while the Board conducts its search for a permanent CEO. Kate is a member of the current Executive Team, and her deep knowledge of our organization, our people and our priorities will ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Vancouver Foundation has grown and thrived over the last 12-years under the leadership of former CEO and President Kevin McCort. Any leadership transition, however, inevitably brings some degree of disruption and uncertainty.

The generosity of the Foundation’s donors, advisors and community has never been more important, as these are challenging times for the charitable and non-profit sector. That is why the Board remains committed to overseeing a smooth leadership transition.

We extend our thanks to Board member Mary Ackenhusen for her willingness to step into the Interim CEO role, and for her ongoing leadership and dedication as a member of the Board.
