Amanda serves as legal counsel to the Metro Vancouver Regional District (Metro Vancouver), a federation of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area, and one Treaty First Nation that work together to provide regional services for over two million residents of the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. Amanda’s role involves providing strategic advice, regulatory reporting and compliance, and dispute resolution to all departments of the organization. She brings a wealth of expertise in aboriginal and environmental law, gained from years of private practice at a national law firm.

Amanda is deeply committed to social and environmental causes. She recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Sustainability and Social Responsibility program at the University of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto, where she was awarded the President’s Capstone Award for significantly advancing sustainability at her organization. Amanda is also a member of Metro Vancouver’s Climate 2050 Steering Committee, which oversees the implementation of Climate 2050 roadmaps, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Research Group, which is tasked with developing a new diversity and inclusion strategy for employee recruitment, retention, and advancement.

Amanda currently sits as a member of the Fraser, Interior, North, Provincial Health Services, Vancouver Coastal and Vancouver Island Patient Care Quality Review Boards, which review concerns from patients and their representatives about the policies and procedures that guide health authority services and provide recommendations to the respective health regarding how to improve patient care and experience.
