Vancouver Foundation is excited to be a Community Partner for On the Adamant, showing at this year’s Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF). The film takes audiences on a captivating journey into the heart of Paris, where a unique floating day care center becomes a sanctuary for adults grappling with mental disorders. Vancouver Foundation’s support underscores our commitment to initiatives that challenge conventional norms in mental health care.
Situated on the Seine River, The Adamant is not just a day care center; it’s a floating structure that redefines the landscape of mental health care. The film, by French Director Nicolas Philibert offers an intimate portrayal of this unconventional facility, highlighting its role in grounding individuals in time and space while fostering recovery and upliftment. The floating nature of The Adamant symbolizes a departure from traditional approaches, emphasizing the importance of innovative settings in the healing process.
The final showing of On the Adamant, takes place 8:30 pm on Saturday, October 7, at Vancity Theatre.
