Legacy Donor Appreciation Events: Museum of Vancouver
This year the Museum of Vancouver graciously hosted our annual Legacy Donor Appreciation Event. This event allows us the opportunity to express our gratitude to a group of thoughtful community members who have left a gift in their estate plans to Vancouver Foundation.
Our guests were delighted to hear from the Museum of Vancouver about its rich history and how they are connecting Vancouverites to the city, culture and the world. In 2018, the Museum of Vancouver will be engaging the broader public with the Haida Now exhibit. This exhibition will highlight the Haida peoples' historical connection to Vancouver through traditional and contemporary art. Our guests received an exclusive sneak-peek at some of the artifacts and a very special talk from Kwiaahwah Jones, the guest curator of the Haida Now exhibit. Kwiaahwah shared her extensive knowledge of Haida’s historical connection to Vancouver and her personal connection being of Haida descent.
Vancouver Foundation has enjoyed an exceptional and long-standing relationship with the Museum of Vancouver. Since 1976, the Museum of Vancouver has held an endowment fund with us. Over the years, Vancouver Foundation in partnership with our donors, has been able to provide over half a million dollars to support the important work at the museum.
